Hi-Desert! Get ready for your closeup! A new media festival is blowing into the desert this weekend! PAH-FEST, a unique, digital new media (or a shorter version – a miniPAH) festival will be here in the Hi-Desrt in the weekend of May 2, 2008 through May 4, 2008!PAH stands for Project Accessible Hollywood, which is an organization that is traveling around the world encouraging local people to tell their story through new digital media. Using digital cameras and video cell phones (with some professional coaching provided by the festival) the participants create short films. At the end of the contest, their works are then judged by celebrity judges and the public from all over the world. The highest rated projects in the categories of Cell Phone Art, DigiPortraits, Cellular Tone Poem and Circus Vision win cash!
PAH-FEST is brough to the people by Christopher Coppola. Christopher is the nephew of famous Hollywood director Francis Ford Coppola and a film director in his own right! The PAH Nation is a organization that is dedicated to offering ordinary people the chance to tell their story!
In the Hi-Desert, there are three venues sponsoring the miniPAH, from Yucca Valley to Twentynine Palms. The contests will wrap up with an awards ceremony on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 7:00pm at the 29 Palms Inn. The MiniPAH Festival locations and schedules as far as can be determined are as follows; For more information, go to the PAHNATION website to get the complete rundown of the miniPAH New Media Festival in the Hi-Desert!
